CASA BOARD FINALIZES 2022 EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
In June 2022, the CASA Board of Directors approved additions and changes to CASA Leadership. We now have a complete Executive Leadership team for the first time since 2020. Along with those changes, new volunteers have been added to the Board of Directors and Leadership Team.
Maggi Dawson, CASA President since 2020, has stepped into the Treasurer’s position. Maggi navigated CASA through major changes in the CASA board and leadership in 2020 and kept things going during the pandemic. During this time there was no active Treasurer, so Maggi assumed the additional role of Treasurer, discovering that she had an aptitude for all aspects of the accounting and management of CASA funds. We are thankful and grateful to Maggi for her leadership during trying times and congratulate her on her new role as Treasurer.
Board Member Olivia Fehlberg has moved into the President’s role. Olivia joined the board during the 2019 call for Directors. After several years of supporting CASA as a member, she felt it was time to give more to the climbing community in Southern Arizona. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became so apparent that what everyone needs communities, and Olivia decided to take on additional responsibilities. As Maggi decided to step into the treasurer position, Olivia agreed to step up into a leadership role.
Board member and Webmaster Nicki Manzanares has assumed the role of Vice President. Nicki participated in various Adopt A Crags with several organizations before volunteering in 2019 to be the CASA Assistant Webmaster. In 2021, she answered the call for Directors to serve on the CASA Board. In late spring of 2022, Nicki agreed to fill the Vice President vacancy beginning the summer 2022. She will continue as CASA's Webmaster and work to support the organization in its growth in community and stewardship activities.
Board Member Ann Ranalli remains as Secretary. Ann joined the Board in 2020. She has been a member of CASA since 2016 participating in Adopt a Crags and CASA events. With a background in agency management, she adds experience in risk management, streamlining procedures and working with a team.
A few other climbers in our community stepped up to assume a volunteer role with CASA in 2022. Toni Ward and Andy Bennett became Deputy Directors, with Andy taking on the additional responsibility of supporting CASA Stewardship Team Leader, Eric Ruljancich.
We welcome and thank all of the CASA volunteers that support our mission and the climbing community.
