The Crags Against Humanity Project, an initiative aimed at preserving and enhancing climbing areas, has recently achieved a significant milestone. The project, led by the CASA Stewardship Lead Eric Ruljancich, has received NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) approval from the Coronado National Forest (CNF). This approval marks a crucial step forward in the project's goal of adopting and improving the area known as Crags Against Humanity, located within the CNF. More information can be found in the Stewardship News. |
March 31, 2025: Two Peregrine or Prairie Falcons have been sighted at Warpath Dome in Cochise Stronghold West. There is a nest on the route, possibly located on the top of pitch two of Warpath. In order to avoid disturbing nesting Falcons, Warpath should not be climbed and the remaining routes on the dome should be avoided.
Many thanks to Logan Hoskisson for submitted a report! If you observe raptor activity, please report to CASA List of updated routes now available!
Your CASA Anchor Team has been busy this summer replacing bolts on Mt Lemmon. The bolts in the photo below were all removed from the route Metro on Honeymooner Wall at Windy Point.
Thanks to the American Safe Climbing Association (ASCA) for their support! If you are seeing suspect climbing hardware out there like this or worse:
